Most people probably think I became a coach because I love health & fitness. While I do love being healthy & staying fit, it's not the reason I started coaching. 

See that little blond hair, blue-eyed girl below? Yep! SHE'S the reason. My #1. The single thing I care about & love most in this world. After becoming a mom for the first time, leaving her to go to work 50-60 hrs/week ABSOLUTELY KILLED ME. Like a ripped my heart out, made me my eyes out cry kind of a feeling. I HATED leaving her every morning & coming home just long enough to feed her dinner & put her to beds at night. THIS was not how I envisioned life being a mom. And after 2 years of working full-time in the corporate world, I had had enough. THIS was going to CHANGE.

One day, I came across a post in my news feed from my friend, Alyssa. I really had no idea what she did, but I saw that she got to work from home with her babies every day, helping motivate people to live better lives & that she LOVED what she did. So I took a chance & I messaged her. What did I have to lose??

Fast forward to SEVEN months later::: I was able to walk away from my full-time job in Medical Sales & fulfill my biggest dream....staying HOME with my daughter  {It STILL to this day gives me goosebumps to say that bc I never thought that would happen}

Fast forward to NOW::: I have been a coach now for 13 months & I wake up every single day feeling so incredibly BLESSED that I get to do this for a living. I am now in the best shape of my life, I work part-time, from HOME ( and in my sweat pants), have paid off thousands of dollars in debt, I am happier than I've ever been & my husband isn't stressed about finances anymore. Becoming a coach with Beachbody has single handedly been THE BEST decision I've ever made for me & my family. And the beauty about this business is...ANYONE CAN DO IT. And I'll show you how!

This is totally YOUR CALL of how and when you want to start this.  Bottom line- you want results and to make this a healthy lifestyle, it should be a good time when you decide they day YOU WANT TO COMMIT!

What to expect while on the Refresh:
This is NOT a starvation diet or an all-liquid diet, although it is low in calories (approx. 900 a day). You should not feel starved since it is packed with fiber and protein and you are nourishing your body properly. 

About the FIBER:
If you are not use to having lots of fiber in your regimen, I recommend you eat a large salad daily and a few servings of fresh veggies for the week up until your Refresh.  If you are not use to all the fiber and overload your body with fiber, you may feel uncomfortable gassy and bloating.  This is also a sign of your body cleaning itself up, which is what it is meant to do.  After you do this Refresh, you will want to increase your fiber levels in general (which is part of a healthy nutrition regimen).  
Fiber promotes satiety, helps balance blood sugar, and thus energy levels, promotes cardiovascular health, and keeps your digestive tract more regular.  It of course also helps you stay healthy and helps you lose weight! 

Water:
It is recommended that you drink tons of water, especially if you want the fiber to do its job right! How you know you get the right amount of water is by taking your weight / 2 and that number is how many ounces of water you should intake every day.
Example: My weight is 130.... 130/2= 65.... 65 ounces is what I need every day (not including your water for your shakes).
*Some people will drink 1 gallon to help maximize their result, which is an approach I personally used and love! It also helps you feel fuller and know the difference between hunger vs. boredom. 

Exercise:
During the 3-Day Refresh, it is recommended that you incorporate MILD to MODERATE exercise. This is because the 3 -Day Refresh will use your energy more effectively to help cleanse your system if you are not, at the same time, taxing it with the effort of repairing muscle after an intense workout.

Garlic Basil Shrimp with Zucchini Pasta

Ingredients:
Garlic Basil Shrimp with Zucchini Pasta

5 medium zucchini
1 Tbsp. olive oil
8 oz. raw medium shrimp, peeled, deveined
6 cloves garlic, crushed
¼ cup prepared pesto
4 fresh Italian parsley sprigs, finely chopped
5 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
Sea salt and ground black pepper (to taste; optional)
4 Tbsp. sliced raw almonds
Preparation:
1. Using a vegetable peeler, cut each zucchini into lengthwise strips about 1/8 inch thick. Turn each zucchini slightly after cutting each strip to work evenly around the outside, stopping when you hit the seeds at the core. Discard cores. Cut slices lengthwise into ½-inch ribbons. Set aside.
2. Boil water in steamer or large saucepan over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-high. Place zucchini in steamer basket; cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until tender. Remove from heat.
3. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Add shrimp and garlic; cook, stirring frequently, for 2 to 3 minutes, or until shrimp are opaque and firm.
5. Add pesto; cook, stirring frequently, for 1 to 2 minutes, or until heated through.
6. Add parsley and basil; toss gently until blended.
7. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
8. Divide zucchini among 4 plates; top evenly with shrimp mixture.
9. Garnish each serving with 1 Tbsp. almonds.

Tip: Zucchini can also be sliced on a mandolin; adjust to a very thin slice.

Cooking Time: 10 min.
