Why I Became a Beachbody Coach

Apr 15, 2014

For those of you that personally know me, you know my DREAM after having my daughter, McKenna (almost 3 years ago), was to become a stay at home mom.  I went from being a die-hard career woman, working 50 hrs/week in the Medical Sales industry, to wanting NOTHING MORE than to quit my job and be home every day with this new little love in my life.

Every time someone told me they were a stay at home mom, my heart would literally break bc I wanted that SO badly.  Financially though, I wasn't able to stay home.  We had a new big mortgage payment, 2 car payments, 2 student loans, and bills out the wazoo!  Even though we both had good jobs, we were still just making ends meet. Quitting my job to stay home with my daughter was 100% NOT an option…but I was DETERMINED.

Just after McKenna's 2nd birthday, I hit my breaking point.  I was completely overwhelmed & stressed with work, the insane amount of hours I was putting in, traveling, flying out of the house at 645am & doing my make up in the car… I just WISHED I could stay home, in my sweats, wake up with my daughter, have breakfast, and just ENJOY these times with her that I would never get back.  I was missing out on her growing up… So then I realized, I had to STOP wishing.  I had to STOP feeling sorry for myself & "stuck"!  If I wanted something, no one was going to hand it to me…I had to go out & GET IT.  And so I did.

One day, I came across a post in my news feed that has forever changed my life… A friend I had met from the gym, posted how she now gets to work from home, part-time, doing something she LOVES, and best of all, gets to be home with her 3 kids.  I remember thinking, 'WOW!  I WANT THAT!!!  I wonder what she does??'  I had NO idea.  Lol.  So I messaged her.  That day after leaving work, I learned about the Coaching opportunity with Beachbody.  Being the super skeptical person that I am (LOL), I hung up the phone and I literally Googled everything I could about it for 3 days.  I watched every YouTube video, researched everything I could…and I was BLOWN AWAY.  It was literally like my PRAYERS had been answered….I had by the grace of God found my DREAM JOB!  I will never forget that overwhelming feeling of bliss when I realized I had found my calling.  It's a feeling that will never leave me!

I've been a coach now for 10 months, I've achieved goals I've never thought were possible.  I've helped hundreds of people now become healthy, lose weight, become CONFIDENT in their own skin again, get off their high blood pressure medicine, wear their pre-baby jeans for the 1st time again, inspire their family & friends to eat healthy & start exercising, and also helped others earn money from home as well by just duplicating what I do.

But my favorite accomplishment of all…I am now a Stay at Home Mom.

Dreams do come true if you want them bad enough & are willing to work for them!  I now work part-time, from home, in my sweat pants :)  I make my own schedule, I don't have a boss to answer to, I can travel without having to "request" time off, and I get to choose who I work with.

So WHY am I telling you this??  Because I want other moms & dads to know that YOU CAN DO THIS, TOO!  If you are considering becoming a Coach, please message me for more info & take a minute to fill out the application below!  I will help you do exactly what I do, mentor you every step of the way.  It is possible if you want it!  It's just taking that first leap of faith!

Ready for a shock? Turns out longer workouts don't always deliver better results. In fact, major studies show that the first 30 minutes of exercise can be every bit as effective at burning fat as workouts that are twice as long.
So when you do a FOCUS T25 workout, you can get an hour's worth of results...but you'll be getting it done in only 25 minutes—so you stay within that optimal, fat-burning zone.
It's a full-body workout in 25 minutes. With zero rest. Focus Interval Training works every muscle group in your body—one after the other—then it works it again. It's short. It's sweaty. But after 25 minutes, it's done.

Thinking about becoming a Beachbody Coach?

Mar 20, 2014

About 8 months ago, I made a decision that has now changed my life. I was working almost 50 hrs/week, I was stressed & tired all the time, I hadn't worked out in almost 2 yrs, I was miserable, felt like crap, and worst of all, I felt like I was missing out on the best years of my daughter growing up because all I did was work. I began to feel unfulfilled in my career & I just knew I wanted CHANGE. I wanted more than anything to be home with my little one, something that was never financially possible for us. I prayed on it really hard & that's when I crossed paths with a friend from the gym and led me to Beachbody.

To begin to tell you how coaching has completely changed my life…

I've always wanted a job that was FUN, where I could be in control of my own hours, work for myself, help others, that was positive & inspiring. I NOW do something that I completely LOVE, that I am SO PASSIONATE about that I honestly look FOWARD to getting up every day & working. Last month, I left my 50 hr/week job in Medical Sales to pursue my passion full-time. And when I say "full-time" I mean, a couple of hours per day. I work from home, with my little one, in my sweat pants, and make my own schedule. I've met the most INCREDIBLE people through this experience, earned free trips to the Caribbean & Las Vegas, and more. The best part about my job is waking up every day reading all of the awesome messages & posts from my challengers how THEIR lives are changing, how AMAZING they feel, how much weight they've lost or how they are BACK into fitting in their old jeans! It's such a BLESSING to know that I had a small part in helping others find confidence again, happiness, making health & fitness a part of their lifestyle. It's so incredibly rewarding!

And, you know what? This is possible for YOU, too! I am planning to mentor 3-5 more motivated individuals starting on March 3rd.

What could $500, $1,000, $2,000, $6,000 extra dollars per month do for you and your family?

Do you have the desire to help others? Want to live a life of freedom both financially and physically?

If you've considered Coaching in the past, if you're passionate about health & fitness, or if you'd like a little info, please contact me or apply here:

Clean Spaghetti Squash with Turkey Meatballs

Mar 18, 2014

Clean Eating Spaghetti Squash with Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 1 large spaghetti squash, baked
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce of choice
  • 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground turkey meat
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 whole eggs or 4 egg whites

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Bake your squash as you see fit for approximately 1 hour, or until it’s soft and easily pierced with a fork. Once the squash is baked and soft, pull it out of the oven and allow to cool until you can touch it without getting burned. If you haven’t already, cut it in half.
  3. Using a fork, remove the squash from the shell by scraping it from the top of the sides to the center. This will achieve the “spaghetti-like” stings the squash in named for.
  4. Mix all the turkey meat ingredients together in a bowl, form into meatballs and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 170 degrees F.
  5. Mix with your squash and sauce, top with a little parmesan and serve.

11 ways Successful People Start Their Day

Mar 3, 2014

  1. Get an early start.  This extra time will help you avoid speeding tickets, tardiness and other unnecessary headaches.  In addition, most markets and businesses open by 9 A.M.  Whether you work from home or commute to an office, the more time you’ve had to digest the day’s news and obstacles ahead, the greater advantage you’ll have over your competition.
  2. Review your Focus list.  What is your number one goal right now?  What’s most important to you?  What makes you happy?  Design your time around these things.  Remember, time is your greatest limited resource, because no matter how hard you try you can’t work 25/8.
  3. Review your TO-DON’T list.  A ‘TO-DON’T list’ is a list of things not to do.  It might seem amusing, but it’s an incredibly useful tool for keepingtrack of unproductive habits, like checking Facebook and Twitter, randomly browsing news websites, etc.  Create one and post it up in your workspace where you can see it.
  4. Exercise.  Other than the obvious health benefits, movement increases brain function and decreases stress levels.  Developing a consistent habit of exercising is a discipline which will carry over into your business day – Apple CEO, Tim Cook, is in the gym by 5 A.M. every morning.  If you can, go outside for a walk, or jump on the treadmill and start out slow.  This will jump-start your metabolism and your day. (JUST PUSH PLAY)
  5. Eat a healthy breakfast.  Your brain and body speed are a function of what you intake.  Bagels, muffins and sugars have the tendency to slow you down.  Fruits, proteins and grains help provide a consistent stream of energy without the sudden drop-off.   Try a mixture of orange, apple and lemon juice with a spinach omelet one morning and let me know how much better you feel. (DRINK SHAKEOLOGY!!)
  6. Kiss your partner goodbye.  It sounds cheesy, but most truly successful people have a great home life.  Acknowledging your partner (and kids) mentally relaxes you, allowing you to focus on the day ahead.  Don’t lose sight of the fact that you’re striving to be successful so they may benefit as well.
  7. Practice 15 minutes of positive visualization.  In his program Get the Edge, Tony Robbins explains the importance of gratitude visualization first thing every morning.  In a nutshell, spend roughly 15 minutes thinking of everything you’re grateful for: in yourself, among your family and friends, in your career, and the like.  After that, visualize everything you want in your life as if you had it today.  The effect?  Elevated certainty in everything you do, and always being in peak state.  Despite how ‘new age’ it sounds, it’s had incredible effects on associating success into my every-day life.
  8. Put first things first.  Successful people recognize that not all hours are created equal, and they strategically account for this when planning their day.  For most of us, our minds operate at peak performance in the morning hours when we’re well rested.  So obviously it would be foolish to use this time for a trivial task like reading emails.  These peak performance hours should be 100% dedicated to working on the tasks that bring you closer to your goals.
  9. Eat that frog.  Brian Tracy’s classic time-management book Eat That Frog gets its title from a Mark Twain quote that says, if you eat a live frog first thing in the morning, you’ve got it behind you for the rest of the day, and nothing else will be more difficult.  In others words, get the tough stuff done first.
  10. Connect with the right people.  Relationships are the basis of business – communication is the basis of relationships.  Successful people associate with people who are likeminded, focused, and supportive.  These people create energy when they enter the room, versus those who create energy when they leave.  Connecting with these positive people in the morning can set you up for a positive day.
  11. Stay informed.  Whether you prefer National Public Radio or the Wall Street Journal, spend a few minutes each morning learning about what is going on in the world.  Not only will it educate you, it may change your perspective or inspire your actions for the day.

The day may have 24 hours of equivalent length but every hour is not created equal.  Beginning the day with a purpose and a plan increases your chances of success.
In her book What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast, Laura Vanderkam writes, “Seizing your mornings is the equivalent of that sound financial advice to pay yourself before you pay your bills.  If you wait until the end of the month to save what you have left, there will be nothing left over.  Likewise, if you wait until the end of the day to do meaningful but not urgent things like exercise, pray, read, ponder how to advance your career or grow your organization, or truly give your family your best, it probably won’t happen.”
